Launching DRI Unit Laboratory

With the round-the-clock efforts of the experts from the Blast Furnace Project Unit at Bisotoun Iron Melting Plant, the DRI Unit Laboratory has been launched. This laboratory aims to measure and assess the elements present in raw materials, the products of sponge iron units, as well as refractory alloys used in the melting unit. The laboratory conducts relevant physical and chemical tests on iron ore, coal, sponge iron briquettes, and refractory alloys to ensure the quality control of raw materials and products. It consists of three sections: the physical laboratory, the preparation of samples for chemical analysis, and the analytical testing using instrumentation. Establishment of the DRI (Dirct Reduced Iron) Unit Laboratory In addition to serving various units within the Bisotoun Iron Melting Plant, the DRI Unit Laboratory intends to expand its operational activities alongside other laboratories within the plant to become a reference laboratory and collaborate with the Standard Administration for steel industry units at the provincial and national levels. It is hoped that, under the guidance of divine providence, through innovation, new thinking, initiative, and creativity, we can take positive steps towards achieving major goals in the steel industry.
