Improvement of Almond Seedlings: A New Step in the Development of Industrial Green Spaces and Sustainable Resource Efficiency<\/h2>\n

In line with achieving environmental goals and enhancing productivity in the green spaces of industrial environments, Bisotoun Steel <\/a>has implemented a scientific and specialized project to improve and graft almond seedlings<\/a> using superior and bred cultivars \u201cTono,\u201d \u201cShokoufeh,\u201d and \u201cAzar.\u201d<\/p>\n

Almond (Prunus dulcis), as one of the strategic species in dry and semi-arid regions of the world, due to characteristics such as deep rooting, relative drought tolerance, and physiological mechanisms to cope with stress, is considered a suitable option for the development of green spaces in industrial environments with limited water resources.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, this species is highly sensitive to early frosts and spring freezes, especially during the flowering stage. Therefore, the use of resistant and improved cultivars with high ability to cope with environmental stresses such as cold and drought has been one of the main priorities of this project.

The almond seedling improvement process has been carried out with full adherence to scientific, technical, and biological principles, and initial results indicate active bud growth and satisfactory progress of the grafts; a matter that confirms the successful union of rootstock and scion and validates the effectiveness of the improvement method used.<\/p>\n

According to scientific findings, the use of modern improvement methods and resistant cultivars plays an effective role in enhancing quality, increasing durability, and improving the productivity of industrial orchards. The implementation of this plan is also a significant step towards sustainable development, improving the environmental outlook, and increasing the efficiency of green spaces at Bisotoun Steel industrial <\/a>complex. <\/p>\n
