A Look at the Life Background of the Late Aziz Shokri Azarbayejani, Veteran of the Province’s Industry

Social Acceptance and Good Reputation, the Valuable Legacy of Constructive and Influential Individuals

In the turbulent years of the second decade of the present century, in one of the cities of East Azerbaijan, a noble and reputable family named Shokri had a child whom they named Aziz. Aziz Shokri Azarbayejani spent his childhood in his hometown and completed his primary education there.

The social conditions of those years, especially in our beloved country, which was still experiencing the outcomes of the Constitutional Revolution, were such that enthusiastic and patriotic young people were drawn toward social activities. Aziz also spent his teenage years gaining valuable experiences and, in the social arena, witnessed that the majority of the country’s youth had to accept hard and exhausting jobs to support their families. Observing these hardships guided Aziz’s delicate soul toward activities that could bring more welfare to society.

His closeness with active social groups made him more skillful and mature day by day, and alongside his peers, he also experienced political activities.

In any case, in Kermanshah, Aziz had to begin working to earn a living. Therefore, together with his friend and companion, Mr. Ali Tohidi, he jointly established a modern mechanized industrial workshop producing mosaic tiles. Through the establishment of this industrial unit and their cooperative and understanding partnership, a successful business was launched, and later conditions for the growth and development of the production unit were also provided. Due to the ethical commitment of the partners and their diligent and proper management, the products of the units under their supervision always satisfied customers, and along with the production of acceptable and standard products, many job opportunities were created for the youth of this region.

In 1957, Aziz Shokri married in his second homeland, Kermanshah, and until the end of his life, he was grateful to God for this blessed marriage. He always remembered the loyalty, sacrifice, patience, and moral as well as religious commitment of his wife with appreciation

The outcome of this marriage was 5 capable and worthy children, who, under proper upbringing and guidance, each became honorable and devoted servants to society. His lofty thoughts and admirable ideals nurtured children who all pursued higher education and, in society, turned into constructive, influential, and entrepreneurial individuals.

The eldest son of Aziz Shokri, after completing his studies, continued his father’s path in industrial and production activities. At present, he is recognized as a successful industrialist and exemplary entrepreneur in the steel industry with outstanding and effective contributions.

Mr. Jahanbakhsh Shokri, in his latest endeavor, after establishing Jahan Foulad Gharb, is pursuing the creation of a steelmaking unit as a core industry, the constructive economic effects of which will be visible in the province and the country.

Mr. Jahangir Shokri, the second son of the late Aziz Shokri, initially pursued his studies in the United States. After receiving his bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, he also became engaged in commercial and economic activities and, of course, cooperated with his elder brother in establishing steel units.

Dr. Jahansouz Shokri, the third son of the late Aziz Shokri, continued his studies in Europe and the United States. With tireless effort, he succeeded in obtaining a Ph.D. from Harvard University. He is currently a researcher, professor, and specialist physician at Harvard University Hospital, recognized as a successful and distinguished Iranian.

Another son of the late Aziz Shokri, Dr. Jahanshah Shokri, completed his undergraduate studies in Turkey and then continued his education in England. He earned a Ph.D. in Structural Engineering and is currently known in Europe as one of the qualified consultants in this field with the establishment of a reputable consulting company.
