According to the Public Relations Office of the Shokri Industrial Group, on the occasion of Environment Week, Bisotoun Steel, as one of the leading and major industrial units in Kermanshah Province, organized a forest park cleanup program on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, as part of its social responsibilities and with the aim of promoting a culture of environmental protection.

This initiative, held with the active participation of the company’s employees and a group of nature enthusiasts, resulted in the collection of a significant volume of waste abandoned in the natural environment, which was then delivered to recycling centers. This action aligns with the company’s sustainable development policies and its responsible approach to protecting natural resources.

As one of the country’s key producers, Bisotoun Steel has consistently sought to play a meaningful role in enhancing environmental, cultural, and social indicators alongside its production and industrial activities. The implementation of numerous environmental projects in recent years reflects the belief that industrial development can coexist with a commitment to nature conservation.

Among the waste collected during this initiative were cigarette filters, which are considered serious environmental pollutants due to their toxic compounds and cellulose microfibers. Studies show that each cigarette filter contains over 7,000 types of chemicals, including nicotine, heavy metals, and microplastics. These substances penetrate the soil, leading to the degradation of soil structure, a decrease in the biodiversity of microorganisms, and contamination of groundwater sources.

This recent environmental action is a clear indication of Bisotoun Steel’s ongoing commitment to the principles of sustainable development and its sense of responsibility toward future generations and the country’s natural resources.
