As part of efforts to expand economic engagement and strengthen international cooperation, an economic delegation from the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Thailand visited the industrial capabilities of Kermanshah Province on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, in coordination with the representative office of Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the province.
During the visit, the Economic Counselor of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Thailand visited the Shokri Industrial Group and gained firsthand insight into the group’s capabilities, production capacity, and industrial infrastructure. A joint meeting was also held to discuss and exchange views on potential areas for expanding economic and trade cooperation between Iran and Thailand.
The delegation visited several companies within the group, including Jahan Foulad Gharb, a producer of structural steel beams in western Iran; Jahan Sanat Kermanshah, a knowledge-based company specializing in the design and manufacturing of industrial machinery; Bistoon Steel, a producer of direct reduced iron (DRI) and steel billets; and Sima Foulad Jahan, a producer and exporter of rebar in western Iran. During these visits, the delegation became familiar with the companies’ technical capabilities, production lines, engineering expertise, and development plans.

At the conclusion of the visit, the Economic Counselor of the Iranian Embassy in Thailand expressed surprise at the level of industrial development and the capabilities established in western Iran. He highlighted the significant potential of the Shokri Industrial Group in steel production and stated that he would introduce the group’s capabilities and the results of his visit to economic stakeholders, traders, and business representatives in Thailand, with the aim of facilitating future visits by specialized delegations and steel industry traders to Kermanshah Province.
He also referred to the history of trade cooperation between Iran and Thailand, noting that the Thai market had previously expressed interest in sourcing steel products, particularly various grades and sizes of structural steel beams. He expressed hope that strengthening the business connections established during the visit would pave the way for new contracts and orders for Iranian steel products—particularly structural beams—in the near future.
The visit represents an important step toward introducing the industrial capabilities of the Shokri Industrial Group to international markets and expanding export opportunities for Iran’s steel industry. It could contribute to stronger economic relations, attracting international customers, and enhancing the position of western Iran’s steel producers in regional and global markets.
